Taking Care of your Heart

September 28th, 2008

Trying to find a good resource for heart conditions is difficult to find. A few years ago I had a small stroke that affects my speech and part of my eye sight. Being able to understand how to prevent another stroke is difficult. I learned that I needed to keep my stress level down and watch for signs of another stroke. Your heart is an important organ that needs lots of care to prevent Heart Conditions. The heart.org is a web page full of resources for on all conditions related to the heart. It is a part of the popular web page WebMD. Many people don’t realize that hypertension is a silent killer. Many people don’t realize that you should have your blood pressure checked on a regular basis. The nurse at the doctor’s office can check your blood pressure at your next check up. In some of the pharmacies they have an electronic blood pressure cuff to monitor your blood pressure. When I was a CNA we had many patients came in with Acute Coronary Syndrome. They always needed special care. Exercise is an important way to keep your heart healthy. We had to teach the patients how proper diet and exercise can help keep your heart healthy.
