I have known a few people who have had plastic surgery to improve themselves. They all had different reasons for going through with the MYA breast reduction. One person decided to have a breast reduction because her back was hurting her from her breast size being so large. She just could not take the pain from extra weight on her chest. She isn’t a large woman, just has large breasts. I have noticed a great change in her since having the surgery. The gleaming in her smile can be seen across the room now. She has told me that she no longer has the back pain she had prior to surgery. Seeing her self confidence soar is wonderful. She’s no longer depressed like she was before the surgery. Now I can hardly find her staying at home. Actually, she’s hard to catch up with now days. She did say that the recovery was difficult as she had stitches and wrapped up with an ace bandage. In her sleep she tried to take it off. She did have to think really hard about having the surgery for the breast reduction because of the risks associated with the surgery. She said it was well worth it.

Kudos to your friend for evaluating her situation and making an informed decision about her reconstructive surgery.
Her improved health and physical appearance has given her back her life. A positive self image is imperative to our over all health!
Self-esteem is very important for everybody. We need it to function well in our work and in the society. To enhance self-esteem, some go to the extent of surgery to develop or improve physical appearance to enhance self-esteem

Self-esteem and the image itself is very important, and whatever we may do to feel comfortable with ourselves should be done.
If your self-esteem is low, your achievements will also be.
