Taking a Vacation with Chronic Illness

February 3rd, 2009

When going on vacation to Paris, France I would need to find a return flights. Sometimes it doesn’t pay to purchase a round trip ticket especially when you don’t have a planned return date. I would have a stop over at Gatwick Airport in London, England and then at Manchester Airport before landing in Paris, France. I have found that purchasing airline tickets online is less expensive. I have family in France and have always wanted to see the Eifel Tower in Paris. There are so many places I would like to see in Paris, but first I have to look for cheap flights for my family. Then, I would have to decide which airport to land at in Paris, France. Next, I would have to find the least expensive flights. I tend to be on the cautious side so I would buy some travel insurance. This way if I run into a health issues with the lupus I could get medical care in a foreign country. I would also like to have the travel insurance to cover the cost of replacing my luggage and wheelchair if it gets lost. Luckily, I would not have to book a hotel room because I have family in France. When purchasing a ticket I would need one that departs at night so I can sleep on the flight to feel rested when I arrive. One of the hardest things about traveling is the jet lag after being on a plane for so many hours. When I was a teen I traveled to England to visit family for a short vacation. My mother had to shop for cheap flight deals first. You did not have the convenience of booking a trip online, so you booked the flight through the airline or a travel agent. Being able to book the flight online avoids the stresses of staying on the phone calling different airlines to compare prices.

Thank you for the tips! I have Celiac along with lupus and I wasn’t sure if you did too. I wanted to let you know that there is a survey for 25$ if you have Celiac. I linked it on my blog. Thanks so much. Oh and if you would consider linking to me I would appreciate it. I set you in my links. Again thanks for the great info.

    God bless
