Butterflies in the Sky

Butterflies, Butterflies in the sky
You seem so free with your wings up high.
I love watching you appear in the spring.
I can only imagine myself being as free as a butterfly
But my wings have been clipped by lupus and its lies
I try to do the best I can each day.
Many of nights when I can not sleep
I think of the butterflies and their freedom
I can only wish to be as free as a butterfly in the sky.
So I leave this with my dreams of butterflies in the sky.

    I enjoyed your poem. I have severe lupus. It is hard for me to just get out of bed in the morning. My husband in the most supportive man that I have ever known in my entire adult life. We have been married 25 years in August,

    Glad you have support. I can not imagine dealing with this by myself. It would be very tough.
