Looking Good in the Sun

May 8th, 2009

Summer is right around the corner and it’s a pretty exciting time for me. The gloomy days of winter are gone for now. Most people are buying new swimsuits, boats and barbecue grills for summer. This year, I need to buy a new bathing suits for the upcoming season. I want to buy a one piece suit instead of a two piece bathing suits. Finding a bathing suit that’s comfortable, colorful, and stylish and just the right size are important to me. Since I have lupus, I have to swim at my local YMCA that has an indoor pool. I am sensitive to the sun so I can not spend much time outside. When I spend time outside I have to wear the highest SPF rated sun block that’s sold over the counter. Being able to swim is something of the past, but it’s nice just to wade in warm water. I really miss the times when I could enjoy swimming in the river with my family. Now I enjoy wading in the pool while my daughter swims her heart out and doesn’t want to get out of the water even when her lips turn blue. I know its time to get out of the pool.
