Quotable Sunday: Helen Keller
July 5th, 2009
βI long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble.β
(One of my favorite things to say to my daughter is she needs to take baby steps, which means the same as the above quote.)
βIt is a terrible thing to see and have no vision.β
(Wow-I love this one.)
“All the world is full of suffering. It is also full of overcoming. ”
(I think this one tells a lot about someone living with a chronic illness and overcomes the many ups and downs.)
“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.”
(This goes to show we all need to explore the outside world in order to achieve. We cannot achieve much looking at a wall.)
I’ve always thought Helen Keller is simply inspirational. Even though she could not see or hear she still enjoyed life to the fullest. I think we could all learn a thing or two from Helen Keller.
