For the Love of Tennis

November 14th, 2009

We learned to play tennis in our freshmen year of high school. At first I wasn’t sure I wanted any part of the sport. In time I did learn to enjoy the game. It was fun chasing the ball across the court to prevent my opponent from scoring a point. Before we actually played the game we learned about the history of tennis. I found the history boring at the time. Since I’ve got older I really love learning the history of places, things and people. In the physical education class we did a lot of essays which I despised at the time. In our free time in physical education I would chose to play tennis. Playing tennis was a welcome sport as I didn’t like the strength building exercises. It had got to the point where one of my peers used to challenge me all the time. Playing tennis didn’t involve doing any push ups, sit ups, or chin ups so I liked it. Now I enjoy watching the professionals playing tennis on television. My favorite sport to watch during the Olympics is tennis. In 2010 the Australian Open will be on television which I’m looking forward watching. I love watching siblings compete against each other.

Is It True 2009 is Almost Over?

November 8th, 2009

Did anyone realize we’ve almost said goodbye to 2009? You know what that means the holidays are right around the corner. My daughter is working on a list for her Christmas and her birthday. A lot of the things she wants involves some kind of bling bling or blinding colors. I usually buy her some kind of cosmetic jewelry for her birthday. One year I bought a box, filled it up all year full of cosmetic jewelry and pony tail holders. It was easier to shop when she was younger.

Looking for Computer Files Away From Home

November 7th, 2009

Have you ever wanted to see one of your computer files when you’re away from home? I know I have more times then I can count on both hands. I’ve loved to write since I was a teenager and inspiration has no timing. Recently, I’ve really put my heart into writing a book. At times, I’ve found myself wanting to edit a chapter of my book at a friend’s house. If I could access the files at a friend’s house I could add or take away a chapter of my book without lugging my laptop around. The best ideas for my book come to me at the darnedest times when I don’t have my laptop with me. I’ve written on paper towels, receipts, or on the top of the newspaper. Once I wrote all over my hand because I had no paper or access to a computer. Being able to access my files away from home would have saved me a lot of time. remote access software would help my daughter as well, if she wished to work on school work away from home. When I first learned about remote accessing my files, I was concerned with how much security is available to protect my files from wondering eyes. I was pleased to see that my files could be encrypted 256 bits-the highest in its class, which is excellent to keep my files safe. By remote accessing my files I can see my files without running home to get my computer.

Home Phone Anyone?

October 31st, 2009

A couple of years ago, I turned off my home phone and went to just my cell phone. It was a good decision since I’m not a high phone user. I checked into a few different companies, but I decided to go with the company with roll over minutes. Checking out Mozoot would have helped make the decision. They have a lot of information on different phone services. In addition to having information about different phone services Mozoot has information about upcoming technologies. Once I signed the contract with the phone company they gave me a Motorola razor for signing the contract. The phone has been dependable even though I’d love to have an Apple i phone. But that won’t happen until the cell phone company offers me a good deal.

The Great Outdoors Comfort Style

October 30th, 2009

Are you dreading that next camping trip to the great outdoors? It’s not worth proving a point to your friends by roughing it in the woods. What’s the point of a vacation when it involves a back ache and stuff joints. Take an inflatable mattress camping to enjoy the great outdoors with a little more comfort. Now, you can enjoy your trip in style and it just might rub off on your friend. I know one thing you wouldn’t catch me lying on the ground if I went camping. I deal with enough pain without adding to it.

Have You Lied to a Buyer Lately?

October 27th, 2009

The light fixture in my dinning room really needs to be replaced again. When I purchased my home the light fixture in my living room was pulled up with bread ties. The seller told us it was tied up to avoid hitting his head when he moving his mother’s furniture out the house. A month later I went to let the light fixture down in my dinning room and I found out the chain to the light fixtures were broken. I was pretty irritated the seller wasn’t honest about the broken chain and it was not the first thing he was dishonest about the house purchase. I could have gone back on the seller for being dishonest about it, but it wasn’t worth my energy and energy is something I want to preserve especially since dealing with lupus robbing me of my energy.

Caring for My Pets

October 26th, 2009

When a dog has fleas it’s a real pain getting them out of your house. As a child, we had three dogs that had fleas. They didn’t have the same treatments for fleas that they have today so we’d bathe them in flea shampoo and spray for fleas with pest control fleas. It didn’t always work that well. I felt so bad for her so I would sit down on our porch and pull the fleas off of her. I put that poor old dog through a lot dragging her around in my green wagon. All she would do is wag her little black and white tail at me and smile. She was a great little dog and I’ll always love her as we were perfect companions when I was a child.

Changes Everywhere

October 24th, 2009

As a child, my Mom had to buy a new dresser for my brother and me. She tried to buy two different colors of dressers for us. She had to purchase the same color dresser and style for both of us. We still fought over the dressers even thought they were the same. A few years ago, when I purchased a new dresser and desk for my daughter’s room I was surprised the different styles and colors available. Today, I checked out North Carolina Furniture for a new sofa for my living and I was surprised how different the furniture changed from just a few years ago. I’m always surprised how different things change from year to year.

Whose Sleeping in Your Bed?

October 23rd, 2009

Did you know that you may be sharing your bed with a few thousand of your closest friends? No, I’m not kidding at all. Most people don’t know they are sharing the bed with bed bugs. Bed bugs can live from six months to year while they’re feasting on your body. They can cause small to large red marks on your skin. You can purchase a bed bug cover that zips to eliminate your feasting friend from living in your bed without paying any rent.

Traveling with a Chronic Illness

October 22nd, 2009

As a lot of people know traveling is hard enough without adding a chronic illness to the mix. You can take steps to make it easier. First write down a list of everything you’ll need to take with you on your trip. Once you’ve completed your list you should make calls to book your reservations for Car Hire Spain from the airport and plane tickets. Making car reservations doesn’t have to be a hair pulling session. You can make the reservations online and it’s simple. Begin by picking a car that’s manual or automatic transmission, then, you must choose a car with ample room, suitcases, and car doors. If the area is hot consider picking a car with air conditioning. Once you have your reservation made, start gathering supplies for your trip. Layout your clothing for the travel dates, and put your suitcases by the door the night before to save time.  The most important things to remember are your medications, tickets, passport or green card, if needed. By planning for your trip ahead of time it’ll save you time and stress. By reducing your stress level, you’ll feel better for your trip.
