It’s My Birthday and I’ll Cry If I Want to

I cannot believe it’s my birthday again. I got the shock of a lifetime from my father. He sent me a large bouquet of gorgeous flowers.  It’s a beautiful assortment of roses, lilies, white roses, carnations, and many more. The flowers are all white, but it’s a beautiful bouquet. My father lives in France and I wasn’t raised by him. It’s a long long story. I had tears running down my face when I saw these flower. Thank You Dad.. I appreciate it a lot. It’s nice to get surprises from loved ones. I’m still checking to see if they’re real….

Is It True 2009 is Almost Over?

Did anyone realize we’ve almost said goodbye to 2009? You know what that means the holidays are right around the corner. My daughter is working on a list for her Christmas and her birthday. A lot of the things she wants involves some kind of bling bling or blinding colors. I usually buy her some kind of cosmetic jewelry for her birthday. One year I bought a box, filled it up all year full of cosmetic jewelry and pony tail holders. It was easier to shop when she was younger.

Do They Ever Stop Growing?

My daughter’s sixteenth birthday is in a few months. It’s hard to believe she’s so close to being an adult. In all honesty, I’m not looking forward to her eighteenth birthday. It’s not that I’m not proud of her; it’s just hard seeing my baby growing up. She’s grown into a respectful, honest, kind and sweet young lady. It’s hard planning for her sixteenth birthday on a tight budget. I need to check around for prices on party favors. I wish I could rewind the time to her being a little girl again. It amazes me how fast time flies in life, where’s a time traveler when you need one.

She’s crazy about polka dots, dogs, and Avril Lavigne. I’m trying to combine all of them together to create the perfect party themes for her sweet sixteen. I need to buy party favors, food, and birthday gifts for her. I’m not sure what I’m going to buy her this year, but it has to be special. She might like these Hollywood party favors I found online. I found a company that offers some creative party ideas for just about any party.  The party favors I found are Hollywood squares just like the ones in California for the stars. I think it’ll be a perfect party for a sweet sixteen, but I’ll have to save money to afford her birthday surprise.

For her birthday I’d like to set up tables with party food. I’m not sure if I’m going to bake her cake or have someone else bake her cake. I’d like to decorate her cake with pink and blue polka dots with small dogs in each dot. I’m sure it’ll be an interesting cake for any cake decorator. Chances are they won’t decorate a cake like this again. Just like the cake my daughter is original too. For decorations I’d like to buy some pink and blue streamers and make a poster with happy sixteenth birthday.

6. If I made a birthday list a bottle of lavender lotion for aches and pains would definitely be on it!!!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to watching the movie The Good Witches Garden which is part 2 of a movie on Hallmark, tomorrow my plans include taking my daughter to volunteer and Sunday, I want to watch Army Wives!

15 Years Later

Today we had cake for my daughters birthday. It was really nice. She likes to bake so we made it together. She got a few gifts of clothing and she was happy with her gifts. Its funny, but I hear of so many parents saying their kids aren’t happy with the gifts they get and she always is appreciative of what she gets. I felt guilty because things are so slim this year. I am happy I could give her a few gifts for her birthday. I am very proud of her. I like to write so I wrote her letter in place of a card. I think it gives more of a personal touch and I think its better to write from the heart, then a card written by strangers, but I still like cards written by others that convey from the senders heart. I often get angry at myself for having lupus and my lack of energy. It plain old sucks to deal with the crap called lupus. It sucks for the person, their family and friends.

My Daughter is having a Birthday

This week is a very exciting week for me. My baby is turning 15. I can’t believe my eyes when I look at her with amazement. Its hard to believe that 15 years have passed since I gave birth to her. She is the best daughter a mother could ask for. She’s endured the ups and downs of me living with lupus. Its been really hard on her I know. I wish that she would not have to see sick day and night at times. Its not easy putting her through it and I’m not the best person at hiding my pain. Sometimes I think she is difficult because she’s scared of what will happen to her Mom. I am just so excited that she will have a Birthday this week. Its an exciting time of the year. My Mom was born a day before my daughter. My Mom was actually mad because she was not born on her Birthday.

I Just Love Flowers So Much

Living with a chronic illness it’s always nice to receive flowers. It’s nice to feel special and appreciated. It makes a bad day a good day. I think everyone loves flowers for all occasions. My mom loves to receive birthday flowers. It always lights up her face. Her favorite flowers are red roses and pink carnations. When she gets flowers she loves to dry the flowers and save them for years to come. She has a red rose that she’s kept for years. When my uncle died we sent sympathy flowers to my aunt. She appreciated the flowers. We sent her the flowers to enjoy rather then put them at grave site. It was nice for her to have to wake up in the morning with a beautiful floral arrangement. When I went to my friends wedding her wedding flowers were peach roses and babies breathe. It was a beautiful arrangement. I was impressed about how such a simple arrangement could look so beautiful. She has peach and white ribbon around the floral arrangement. In the spring, I love to look at the many colors of the flowers. One of my favorite flowers is the tulip. I like how some floral shops have such a wide variety of different colors.
