Pictures of my Garden

July 19th, 2008

Here is some pictures of my garden, that my daughter took. The tomatoes are outgrowing the green peppers. The cucumbers have just started to grow. Its pretty amazing how each one of  these grow at their own pace. Its something I enjoy doing even while I live with lupus. I may not be able to physcially do all the work to make the beautiful container garden, but I’m blessed to have the help I do have. I’ve got some more pictures I will show later of the world’s slowest growing flower. :) , atleast in my garden.

Your garden looks so healthy. The ants are eating everything in my yard including the flowers. What did you use to keep the pest out?

I did have some issues with ants in one of my plants. I think it helps that they are in their own pots, instead of the ground. I did make up a mixture of hot pepper spray (red pepper flakes) and garlic and let the bottle sit in the sun so it will work. You have to fill it up with water. I used an old nylon over the tube where the fluid is pulled up into the trigger. I did this to prevent the pepper flakes from going up in the tube. I try to go all organic cause we have enough pesticides in our food already. Let me know if you need more information.

    Thank you for the information.

I did not want to use pesticides on my food either. I am happy that your answer was organic. :~)
