Did you know that this month is Bipolar Awareness month?
Millions of people are affected by this disorder. People with bipolar are known to have roller coaster mood swings. One minute they are happy and the next moment they are sad. Many people hear the word bipolar and they want to run away from the person. Many people don’t understand that the disorder is not a choice. People with bipolar disorder are at a higher risk of committing suicide. One out of five people living with bipolar commits suicide. Fifty percent of people with the disorder have tried to commit suicide at least one time. They are at a higher risk of abusing alcohol or drugs. They have the disorder and need as much love and support as any other person. The love of other could be a matter of life and death for some people with bipolar. So I ask that you embrace your family and friends that have bipolar disorder. Many people with bipolar disorder are able to lead a full life by taking medication and getting proper treatment. So Today Remember to Show the person with bipolar a hug and give them the love they need.

I just knew about this bipolar. I know manic depression but I just knew about this term bipolar from her blog.. Thanks for telling.. I didn’t even know there’s a month for it..
Medications and support from love ones are very important to a bipolar person. They have a tendency to commit suicide that’s why proper management are very important

Thanks for this post. I have a sister that is bipolar and I believe she is taking meds for her condition. In the past it has been a roller coaster ride with her at times and not a pretty sight. It is one thing to have this disorder and acknowledge it, but when someone has it and is in denial, then it becomes a real challenge. I did not realize there was an awareness month set aside for this, so thanks for informing me.
