Deciding where to go on vacation when you live with a chronic illness takes a little more consideration then just booking a place with a pool. You have to research that you can find the proper accommodations for your visit. Many of us need an elevator to get up to the second floor. If we have an elevator it saves us the energy we could use to enjoy fun with family and friends. I know myself a pool would be an advantage because the water gives me a lot relief. I especially like a whirlpool or Jacuzzi to enjoy the benefits of warm water. The outer banks north carolina are a nice place to sit back and relax. If you’re looking for a quiet vacation you need to check that the place is not close to the main drag. The more time you can relax while living with a chronic illness the easier it is to function. Sometimes it’s just great to get away from people around you to regroup your mind and find some inner peace. I enjoy listening to the surf from the oceans and enjoying quiet times around the ocean. I love picking up sea shells along the sea shore to add to my collection. Making sure the vacation home is handicapped accessible makes it easier for a lot of us chronic illness survivors to get around. Even if you’re not in a wheelchair it helps to have some of the home handicap accessible.

Having a chronic illness I have struggled to find something to find a scent that helps with the aches and pains I deal with everyday. I started searching the internet to find something natural to help. I found out that lavender has a lot of calming qualities to sooth achy muscles and to help with your mood. I started out with lotions infused with lavender. I quickly learned of the many benefits of lavender. I have lavender lotions, candles, body wash and a body spray in my collection. I did try to grow a lavender plant a couple years in a row. One year the seeds did not grow and the next year the plant did not grow. I like to burn my lavender candle in the evening because that’s the time of night when my pain level is the highest. Scentsy has a lot of candle and candle holders to enjoy in your home. My favorite candle of course is lavender. I like to buy different candle holders for different times of the year. For fall I like fall colors and spring for spring colors. It’s been very helpful in dealing with the many ups and down of living with a chronic illness.

One of my favorite TV shows is Army Wives. I enjoy watching the lives unfold on Army wives. It allows me to get my mind away from the struggles with lupus everyday.Trevor and Roxy are a cute couple on the show. In last season they portrayed them as the ideal couple. This season they through in a dose of Trevor having an issue with pain killers. I hate seeing people struggle with addiction of any kind. Its something I’ve seen a lot of people struggle with it. It has its way of tearing an entire family apart in the blink of an eye. Army Wives is portraying the life of a family struggling with a family members addiction well. The drama of the Army Wives is something that everyone needs to see. Its a great awareness of the wars and how they struggle with life. Many people forget that our soldiers have the same struggles in life that we have.
